after the latest turn of events in the malaysian political scene, seems that the BN govt has taken a step that may end up being a kick in their own face.
Malaysia Today, run by the ever resourceful RPK, has been censored by BN's communications body. Could this be a turning point in
a) internet as we know it?
b) the government?
c) (false sense of) freedom?
Go ahead and read the unbiased report from Malaysian Insider
It's interesting that a government body like the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission's (MCMC) is hellbent on blocking 1 website with political vocal power, while millions of pages containing online betting, pornography, religious malpractices, racism, home made weapons, and countless other 'damaging material' is widely allowed, and even ignored.
What say you, oh fellow Malaysian? But then again, i think this is the first year where 'Independence' (of which celebratory feeling i think is severely hampered) may have a new notion altogether.
