good evening commissioner....

I watched the Dark Knight for the third time today. come on.. u know u want to as well... so don't be too quick to judge me :p

We all know how good the movie is, the strength of the story, the emotionally depraved display of the prince of mayhem, and the background story with regards to the untimely demise of one the industry's young stars.

But today i realised how two main characters were well depicted in this episode of the Gotham saga. I've always held the talents of Gary Oldman and Aaron Eckhart in high esteem, but their performances this time around, well i am almost at a loss for words.

Oldman plays the role almost as if Jim Gordon just walked off the pages of the DC comic books. For me, it's as if he IS Jim Gordon.

I'm glad Chris Nolan showed the progression of Sgt Gordon over the two movies, developing the character. Wonder if there will be enough sequels to depict the aging of his movie kids, to eventually introduce Barbara Gordon to become the Batgirl, maybe even starting off a new franchise??

Difficult to say, but who knows.

Another actor who (i feel) has been constantly improving and is great fun to watch, right from Erin Brockovich up to Thank You For Smoking, is Aaron Eckhart. When i found out he was going to play Harvey Dent aka Two face, i was thrilled to say the least. I mean this would be a good step up from Tommy Lee Jones's (no disrespect to Jones) version in the earlier Batman franchise (the kiddie version i would say).

And boy, you know how they say when you place the right toys in the right kids hands, you get magic? well i said it hehe.

Watching the switch from knight in shining armour to evil incarnate personified, with such raw emotion and conviction actually provided the platform for which Bale, Ledger, Oldman et all to combine ensemble with outstanding results.

We can only look forward to the next installment of the series.

ps: just in ::

The Dark Knight broke yet another record as it passed up the $400 million in just 18 days (!!!). The previous record was held by Shrek 2, which needed 43 days (!!!) to reach the mark, followed by Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, which took 45 days (!!!).
