tweaking the shiny bits

it's getting more and more exciting no? hhmm somehow didn't think blogging, or what i would call this attempt, would be more ..dare i say .. addictive? kinda fun to add more stuff, place articles, link articles, fiddle with the templates an settings, ... hehe hehe.. this is kinda like when i first got my first toy. You have this feeling of awe and joy all at the same time, and then you feel like hhmm what else can i do/play/destroy next?

well, it's been a couple of weeks since i started this one. Here's to me keeping it going! Salute!!

Ridiculous

Today starts of as an interesting day, as i came upon an article posted by my fav blogger RPK. the latest developments in the national political scene is bound to be great fodder for the weeks to come...

for those who have not read it... enjoy.

Fernanddooooooo!!!!

A fitting finale, with the hotshot scoring when it matters the most. Closely fought final which was finally settled with a placed goal by Torres. Germany could not really get off to their style, with Ballack and co seemingly running around like a bunch of misbehaving school brats.

Keeper Casillas celebrated a great tournament with raising the trophy to the tune of the Gladiator.
Wow, what a tournament indeed. Great attacking play from Russia, Holland, Turkey, and Spain among others. good value for entertainment.

well now on for the new season!

Classy classy Spanish see off spunky Russians

WOW! it was a real show by the spanish masters, giving a almost perfect display to setup a mouth watering display against the Germans come Sunday.

In wet and cold conditions, the Spanish were red hot with slick passing, crisp attacking play and clinical finishing. Russians seemed to be able to handle them in the first half, but once the deadlock was broken, it was all one way traffic.

So now, on to Sunday. Where habitual finalist Germany will face the constant underachievers Spain. It's setup for an interesting clash, and should be a fitting finale to a joyous tourney.

Wanted

Just watched Wanted today.... hhmm what can i say... mind numbing action sequences were ok, some witty oneliners, and james McAvoy in an action role seems a bit far fetched. But, all said, it was kind of one of those movies u watch without expectations other then 'ooh lets just have fun'?

Kinda of liked it, but wish that with maybe a stronger storyline, and more believable stunts (curve bullets wei!!) could have done more justice to the cast it had. But what do u expect from a comic book adaptation. 2.5 stars for kicks sake. oh btw, jolie can still kick arse!

Ze Germans are coming!!

One finalist is now announced. The Germans kept it real late, agaist the late drama specialist this tournament. A display that wasn't memorable produced an 'efficient' result.

Astro didn't help by the disruptions during the second half, but they got away with it as the fault was with the feed from the site (TV3 had the same problems).

Turkey refused to go quietly, taking an early lead, but then forgot to defend as the Germans equalised with SCHWEINSTEIGERRRRRRRR!!!!!!

ok ok...

the match seemed to be heading for extra time, when in a short time of no-live-feed, the match moved into a 2-2 scoreline. Then steps up the diminutive left back finishing off a move he started.
This however prompted the phrase of the day from studio host "Shebby had a little Lahm!"

de-hy-de-rated

It has been a quiet few days ain't it? wonder why?

On my side it's just been the off days, relaxing a home with much to do at home. All those procrastinated chores have finally been attended to (okay okay not all of them), gave my bike a good run, and even managed to almost complete my Manager season in FIFA 08.

But, the ultimate reason for me being offline is explosive (or could it be expletive) diarrhoea!

man i got hit on Moody Monday and haven't been seeing lumps since. Tried all sorts of home remedies (yes the teh-o pekat and bananas and over-toasted bread, even my personal favourite 100 plus), and somehow seemed to be recovering; but any wrong meal set it off again.

Today was the worst. Didn't have any sort of reaction the whole day,so i thought the stomach had finally settled. So what do i do? I EAT! Lo and behold, it's WWIII in my belly all over again.
And now i can't settle it down. I guess if all fails, tomorrow the doctors gonna be giving me a royal scolding for not coming in earlier.

Somehow, this episode is not as bad as the one i had in '03. My that one brought a whole new meaning to the phrase 'imbalanced tummy'. That one had me crawling , yes literally, to the toilet every few minutes. That one even had me bed ridden with fever!

Somehow i always classified myself as being born with IBS (yes that's the famous one). But this week, i think i have to either get myself checked for an official classification, or i need to come up with a whole new syndrome named after my arse!

Oh yeah.... wish the germans have a better night then i've had a weekend!

arrivederci Italy!!

It was a match too close to call, but when it time came, little Cesc stood up to be counted, and sent Buffon the wrong way in the last kick of the shootout!

Spain were delirious in sending the proud italians, who were missing their mifield mainmen, packing with "buena riddance" stamped on their baggage!

And how! Italians set out the stall with solid defense (naturally) and some nice moves ending with Luca Toni unfortunate to finish the tournament with no goals. The matadors were slow in building attack from the back, until the coach decided to inject some attacking style with Cesc Fabregas bossing the midfield later in the second half.

So now we build on towards the Semi-finals of Euro 08. The Germans face the tricky Turks, who have managed to squeeze (literally) thru. Russia, who blew the flying Dutchmen away, will be awaiting the Spanish. phew...at least i can get a few nights of sleep before that phase starts of.

good sunday

phew.. what a busy 4 days at work.
fuck crazy wei.

anyway, i treated myself and my baby to a day out. I've been searching for the past 4 months for a decent pair of shoes...been roaming around town, and taipei with a pair of flip flops. I'd almost given up hope when this evening....

yippie... i'll be roaming around the next few days to break em in .. so that by the time i go to work.. they don't smell like they're just outta the shop. (Hopefully they don't smell like anything from the road either!)

oh and also.... HELLO VIRGO!

dutch unable to shake off underacheivers tag...

Flying dutchmen finally meet their match in the form of Russian resilience! what a game... this time seemed justified to have my prediction thrown out the window from the 30th floor. For all the dutch flair, the russian matched them with great speed and excellent teamwork...and were much much more clinical when faced with the whites of the posts. For the Dutch, Africa is now a long two years wait to get over this misery.

Spain feeling nervous now?

Thank you John

For 7 years, John Arne Riise has been a great part of the Liverpool squad. yesterdays announcement of his sale to AS Roma while not unexpected, is surely sad news for his supporters.
I for sure will miss that sweet left foot which is capable of smashing in, from a great distance, goals such as THAT one against MU. Many team have fallen to you thunderbolt.

We thank you, will miss you, but wish you the best in your future in Rome. Hope you recover the heights that you achieved as a part of the Reds.

Croatia fall to sucker punch

Turkey just messed up my Euro 08 predictions. Damn. They somehow managed to hang on against the Croats, were lucky not to concede goals during the game proper and were ultimately lucky to smash a last-minute-of-extra-time equaliser. Falling apart in the penalties seemed to be a foregone conclusion.

Coach Slaven Bilic and his team will be one to look out for in 2 years time. Maybe they can stop England from qualifying again hehe.

Hopefully the other semi's fall in line with my predictions. for tonight, it's all systems go for the Oranje!

Movie this week

Decided to watch Made Of Honour this week instead of Get Smart (i'll catch that on my off day ...).
Although all signs pointed to it being a opposite sex remake of My Best Friends wedding, it was enjoyable as it was predictable. Good laughs, picturesque highlands, and simple storyline gets just about 2 stars from me.

Now for Get Smart .... wonder if this remake will meet my expactations .. cos i really enjoyed the tv series from the 80s.

Bye bye Ronaldo

Yes!! what a performance by the Deustch!! was a good game to watch for neutrals, even better for German fans. Under pressure manager Low (who was in the stands due to a touchline ban) could be seen enjoying all the highs and lows , just like a true supporter; right to a nervous ciggy at the death when the Portuguese pulled one back.

in the end, one man was the difference. You guessed it, his name as difficult to spell as it is fun to yell out when he scores!

SCHEIWNSTEIGER!!!!!!!!

Probable and almost certain to meet the Germans are the Croats... who seem to be getting better with each game. Seems the Euro games are heading for an interesting climax.

HHmmmm.......

Long week.... sigh

this week is a long week back.. seems even longer when we're down one person, with others away for training etc. Making it even sweeter will be the wonderfully humid envelope of warmth currently covering our island. Imagine the ability to be dripping sweat just watching TV or worse playing PS2.

(Really missing cool windy summer Perth now!)

Good thing to look forward to ... going for movie with my family tonight.. for a laugh ... and then Sunday. hhmmm let's see how that turns out.
